Weekly meals for families facing hunger in Milan
Davide runs a volunteer pantry feeding 131 families; this fund restocks shelves for the harvest gap.
🇮🇹 Milan, Lombardy, Italy1,507 views
Since 2019, our volunteer team has run the Harvest Pantry every Thursday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 17 families, and now we feed 131 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 57% this harvest gap, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 19 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Milan market and keep every receipt.
Each $30 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $1,850 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $910
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $580
• Baby formula and diapers: $190
• Refrigeration and electricity: $170
Thanks for being kind about this.

Sending strength. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Put this on a community board in Abuja this morning. All the best
Praying for you, Davide. Shared it with a few friends. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double.
So sorry you're going through this, Davide. Hope you get there. Greetings from Kraków
