Ikeja
Since 2020, our volunteer team has run Neighbors' Pantry every Monday from the back of the mosque courtyard. We started with 14 families, and now we feed 80 each week. Donations have dropped by about 35% this harvest gap, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 11 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Ikeja market and keep every receipt. Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week. I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday. Where the $500 goes: • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $220 • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $140 • Baby formula and diapers: $80 • Refrigeration and electricity: $60 With deep gratitude, Ronke

  1. Good news. Because of your gifts ($74 in total) we've booked the dates and paid the deposit. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  • Hang in there. This could happen to any of us. After 26 years in public service I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Blessings

    • wishing you the best. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. It's not much but it's yours. Thinking of Ikeja.
