Weekly meals for families facing hunger in Coimbatore
The the Sunday Shelf pantry in Coimbatore is running low just as demand rises; $200 will stock it for 8 weeks.

Since 2020, our volunteer team has run the Sunday Shelf every Monday from the back of the old library basement. We started with 28 families, and now we feed 282 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 30% this summer, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 8 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Coimbatore market and keep every receipt.
Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $200 goes:
• Baby formula and diapers: $50
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $110
• Refrigeration and electricity: $40

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Dola
The list at the bottom is the whole picture. baby formula and diapers is the biggest at $50.
