Weekly meals for families and seniors in Siliguri
Mythili runs a volunteer pantry feeding 196 families; this fund restocks shelves for the rainy season.

Since 2022, our volunteer team has run the Thursday Table every Sunday from the back of a community center. We started with 21 families, and now we feed 196 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 43% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 6 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Siliguri market and keep every receipt.
Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $400 goes:
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $90
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $300
• Refrigeration and electricity: $10
Thanks for being kind about this.

Thinking of you, Mythili. Shared this with my family. Don't give up. Take care.
Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. I hope October is when things finally get easier. God bless.
Great idea, hope you get there. Greetings from İzmir
Thinking of you and your family. This could happen to any of us. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. All the best
Wishing you the best. This could happen to any of us. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Take care
Take care, Mythili. Gave what I could, wish it was more. My colleague had a similar thing happen so this one hit home
