Weekly meals for families and seniors in Lapu-Lapu
The the Second Helping pantry in Lapu-Lapu is running low just as demand rises; $450 will stock it for 6 weeks.

Since 2019, our volunteer team has run the Second Helping every Wednesday from the back of the old library basement. We started with 12 families, and now we feed 312 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 41% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 13 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Lapu-Lapu market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $450 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $220
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $140
• Baby formula and diapers: $55
• Refrigeration and electricity: $35
Every share and every dollar helps.

it takes guts to ask. Well done. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. Blessings.
hope things get better soon. More neighborhoods should do this. Thinking of Lapu-Lapu
More neighborhoods should do this. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Love from Salem
Hope things get better soon, Rhea. More neighborhoods should do this. Sent it to 37 people at work.
Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Love from Newcastle.
