Weekly meals for families and seniors in Jimma
The the Sunday Shelf pantry in Jimma is running low just as demand rises; $450 will stock it for 6 weeks.

Since 2020, our volunteer team has run the Sunday Shelf every Sunday from the back of the mosque courtyard. We started with 24 families, and now we feed 308 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 39% this winter, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 7 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Jimma market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $450 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $140
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $175
• Baby formula and diapers: $70
• Refrigeration and electricity: $65
Thanks for being kind about this.

thinking of you and your family, Samuel. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. God bless
Wishing you the best, Samuel. More neighborhoods should do this.
Wishing you peace. Shared it with a few friends. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Thinking of Jimma.
Sending strength, Samuel. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Love from Soweto.
