Weekly meals for families and seniors in Gqeberha
Suren runs a volunteer pantry feeding 306 families; this fund restocks shelves for the winter.

Since 2020, our volunteer team has run Community Pantry every Wednesday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 12 families, and now we feed 306 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 34% this winter, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 13 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Gqeberha market and keep every receipt.
Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $600 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $340
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $145
• Baby formula and diapers: $85
• Refrigeration and electricity: $30
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Updates from Suren
Small update. $93 so far, the plan for refrigeration and electricity is now scheduled.
Thank you all. We're at 70% now ($418). I'm honestly stunned. I made the first payment toward baby formula and diapers.

how is Suren doing now?
thinking of you and your family. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Love from Dallas.
Rooting for you, Suren. More neighborhoods should do this. I'm in construction myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you.
Sending love. I hope things turn around soon. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Love from Coyoacán
Keep going, Suren. I hope things turn around soon. God bless!
