Weekly meals for elderly neighbors in Vigo
Pedro runs a volunteer pantry feeding 88 families; this fund restocks shelves for the summer.

Since 2022, our volunteer team has run Bread & Beans Kitchen every Monday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 9 families, and now we feed 88 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 34% this summer, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 18 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Vigo market and keep every receipt.
Each $20 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $2,100 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $940
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $770
• Baby formula and diapers: $145
• Refrigeration and electricity: $245
If you're reading this, thank you.

You're not alone, Pedro. Hope this works out for you. I'll check back for the next update. Greetings from Kanpur.
Rooting for you, Pedro. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier.
Take care. Your post was clear and honest. I went through something like this 5 years ago and strangers helped me out.
Take care, Pedro. Hope you get there.
Sending good thoughts, Pedro. Your post was clear and honest. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. God bless.
Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. My neighbor in Jakarta donated after I showed her your page. Take care.
Keep going, Pedro. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money
Thinking of you. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Blessings.
