Weekly meals for elderly neighbors in Southampton
Alexander runs a volunteer pantry feeding 215 families; this fund restocks shelves for the winter.

Since 2019, our volunteer team has run the Harvest Pantry every Thursday from the back of the mosque courtyard. We started with 24 families, and now we feed 215 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 59% this winter, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 11 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Southampton market and keep every receipt.
Each $35 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $2,350 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,150
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $660
• Baby formula and diapers: $310
• Refrigeration and electricity: $230

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Alexander.
The list at the bottom is the whole picture. rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale) is the biggest at $1,150. Fair thing to want to know.
