The the Sunday Shelf pantry in Södertälje is running low just as demand rises; $2,800 will stock it for 6 weeks.

Södertälje
Since 2022, our volunteer team has run the Sunday Shelf every Sunday from the back of the old library basement. We started with 21 families, and now we feed 120 each week. Donations have dropped by about 46% this winter, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 10 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Södertälje market and keep every receipt. Each $25 feeds a family of four for a week. All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs. Where the $2,800 goes: • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,300 • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $910 • Baby formula and diapers: $250 • Refrigeration and electricity: $340 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Lovisa!

Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale) comes first ($1,300) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid.

Praying for you. Your post was clear and honest. My brother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.
