Weekly meals for elderly neighbors in Santos
Diego runs a volunteer pantry feeding 391 families; this fund restocks shelves for the rainy season.

Since 2021, our volunteer team has run the Harvest Pantry every Monday from the back of a community center. We started with 11 families, and now we feed 391 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 45% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 17 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Santos market and keep every receipt.
Each $15 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $850 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $410
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $260
• Baby formula and diapers: $105
• Refrigeration and electricity: $75
If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.
