San Nicolás de los Garza
Since 2022, our volunteer team has run Bread & Beans Kitchen every Monday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 25 families, and now we feed 132 each week. Donations have dropped by about 30% this summer, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 10 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the San Nicolás de los Garza market and keep every receipt. Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week. All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs. Where the $700 goes: • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $370 • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $240 • Baby formula and diapers: $90 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

  • Sending strength. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. All the best.

    • Thinking of you, Diego. It takes guts to ask. Well done.
