Since 2023, our volunteer team has run the Harvest Pantry every Saturday from the back of the mosque courtyard. We started with 19 families, and now we feed 80 each week. Donations have dropped by about 48% this harvest gap, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 10 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the San Diego market and keep every receipt. Each $45 feeds a family of four for a week. All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs. Where the $2,650 goes: • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,650 • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $780 • Refrigeration and electricity: $220 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

  • Wishing you peace. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. Thinking of San Diego.

    • Hope things get better soon, Ethan. This could happen to any of us. Blessings!

      • Rooting for you. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected
