Weekly meals for elderly neighbors in Piraeus
The Community Pantry pantry in Piraeus is running low just as demand rises; $1,350 will stock it for 7 weeks.

Since 2021, our volunteer team has run Community Pantry every Monday from the back of the parish hall. We started with 18 families, and now we feed 343 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 49% this harvest gap, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 6 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Piraeus market and keep every receipt.
Each $15 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $1,350 goes:
• Baby formula and diapers: $300
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $820
• Refrigeration and electricity: $230
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Hope things get better soon, Vangelis. Hope you get there. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Love from St. Petersburg!
