Weekly meals for elderly neighbors in Limoges
The the Sunday Shelf pantry in Limoges is running low just as demand rises; $2,650 will stock it for 9 weeks.
🇫🇷 France1,726 views
Since 2023, our volunteer team has run the Sunday Shelf every Tuesday from the back of the old library basement. We started with 10 families, and now we feed 281 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 33% this winter, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 16 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Limoges market and keep every receipt.
Each $50 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $2,650 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,400
• Refrigeration and electricity: $160
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $1,090
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Simone
Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale) is $1,400 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. Thanks for asking.
Keep going, Simone. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. My neighbor in Naples donated after I showed her your page. Greetings from Naples
Thinking of you and your family, Simone. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Sent it to 5 people at work. God bless.
Praying for you, Simone. Your post was clear and honest
