Weekly meals for elderly neighbors in Gothenburg
Maria runs a volunteer pantry feeding 327 families; this fund restocks shelves for the harvest gap.

Since 2019, our volunteer team has run Bread & Beans Kitchen every Monday from the back of the old library basement. We started with 11 families, and now we feed 327 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 51% this harvest gap, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 14 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Gothenburg market and keep every receipt.
Each $40 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $2,450 goes:
• Baby formula and diapers: $690
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,600
• Refrigeration and electricity: $160
