Weekly meals for elderly neighbors in Bursa
Erdem runs a volunteer pantry feeding 299 families; this fund restocks shelves for the rainy season.

Since 2021, our volunteer team has run the Second Helping every Friday from the back of the mosque courtyard. We started with 15 families, and now we feed 299 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 45% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 6 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Bursa market and keep every receipt.
Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $850 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $460
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $230
• Baby formula and diapers: $70
• Refrigeration and electricity: $90
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
