Weekly meals for elderly neighbors in Brampton
The the Harvest Pantry pantry in Brampton is running low just as demand rises; $3,700 will stock it for 8 weeks.

Since 2019, our volunteer team has run the Harvest Pantry every Wednesday from the back of the mosque courtyard. We started with 8 families, and now we feed 181 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 44% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 19 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Brampton market and keep every receipt.
Each $50 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $3,700 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,650
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $1,100
• Baby formula and diapers: $540
• Refrigeration and electricity: $410
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
