We lost everything in the winter storm: help the Old Town neighborhood start over

The winter storm damaged 38 homes in the Old Town neighborhood. We're raising funds for repairs, supplies and temporary shelter.

The winter storm hit the Old Town neighborhood on 23 August. My home was one of 38 damaged, and 2 families are still in temporary shelter at a mosque and church hall. The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming. Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before. We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy. We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates. Where the $3,550 goes: • Tools and labor for repairs: $770 • Clean water and purification supplies: $1,300 • Food parcels for displaced families: $1,480 If you're reading this, thank you. - Colton

Keep going. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My sister had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. God bless.
