We lost everything in the wildfire: help the Sunrise district start over
The wildfire damaged 47 homes in the Sunrise district. We're raising funds for repairs, supplies and temporary shelter.

The wildfire hit the Sunrise district on 7 March. My home was one of 47 damaged, and 7 families are still in temporary shelter at the sports club.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $900 goes:
• Food parcels for displaced families: $360
• Clean water and purification supplies: $260
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $280
Thanks for being kind about this.
- Elena

Thank you all. We're at 47% now ($419). I'm honestly stunned. we've booked the dates and paid the deposit.
Quick update: $419 raised so far (47%). we've started the first stage. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.
Good news. Because of your gifts ($394 in total) I made the first payment toward bedding, blankets and mattresses. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely. - Elena

Thinking of you, Elena. Gave what I could, wish it was more. All the best
