The wildfire hit Greenfield village on 6 August. My home was one of 55 damaged, and 3 families are still in temporary shelter at a borrowed warehouse. The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming. Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before. We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy. We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates. Where the $5,350 goes: • Roofing sheets and timber: $1,200 • Clean water and purification supplies: $690 • Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $670 • Food parcels for displaced families: $1,350 • Tools and labor for repairs: $1,440 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support. - Étienne

  • take care. Shared it with a few friends. I'm in social work myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you.

    • a colleague of mine might know someone for this in Grand Est. I'll ask around and let you know.
