We lost everything in the typhoon: help the Marketplace settlement start over
The typhoon damaged 33 homes in the Marketplace settlement. We're raising funds for repairs, supplies and temporary shelter.

The typhoon hit the Marketplace settlement on 23 August. My home was one of 33 damaged, and 10 families are still in temporary shelter at the community hall.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $1,100 goes:
• Tools and labor for repairs: $280
• Roofing sheets and timber: $750
• Clean water and purification supplies: $70
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

is there anything that isn't money that would help Noel?
Sharing the link is the biggest thing. And if you know anything about tools and labor for repairs, advice is welcome too. Thanks for looking so closely.
Wishing you peace, Noel. This could happen to any of us. All the best.

Wishing you the best, Noel. Your post was clear and honest. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Greetings from Reims.
