The typhoon hit the families of Sunrise Lane on 9 April. My home was one of 51 damaged, and 5 families are still in temporary shelter at a mosque and church hall. The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming. Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before. We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy. We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates. Where the $850 goes: • Tools and labor for repairs: $220 • Clean water and purification supplies: $70 • Roofing sheets and timber: $560 Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot. - Anh

  1. Good news. Because of your gifts ($140 in total) we've started the first stage. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  2. Thank you all. We're at 15% now ($130). I'm honestly stunned. the first invoice got paid this week.

  • Take care. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I went through something like this 5 years ago and strangers helped me out. Blessings.

best of luck. More neighborhoods should do this. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Love from Xalapa!
