We lost everything in the storm: help the Sunrise neighborhood start over
The storm damaged 20 homes in the Sunrise neighborhood. We are raising funds for repairs, supplies and temporary shelter.

The storm hit the Sunrise neighborhood on 12 May. My home was one of 20 damaged, and 8 families are still in temporary shelter at the sports club.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters.
Where the $3,800 goes:
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $960
• Tools and labor for repairs: $890
• Food parcels for displaced families: $1,250
• Clean water and purification supplies: $700

Sure. The biggest one is bedding, blankets and mattresses, $960. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. It helps to be asked.
