We lost everything in the storm: help the Hillcrest neighborhood start over
The storm damaged 22 homes in the Hillcrest neighborhood. We're raising funds for repairs, supplies and temporary shelter.

The storm hit the Hillcrest neighborhood on 28 October. My home was one of 22 damaged, and 13 families are still in temporary shelter at the sports club.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $4,350 goes:
• Tools and labor for repairs: $980
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $770
• Roofing sheets and timber: $2,100
• Food parcels for displaced families: $500
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

sending good thoughts, Ji-min. More neighborhoods should do this. Thinking of Seoul
is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Ji-min.
It's all in the list in the story. tools and labor for repairs is the big one at $980, I'll post a receipt when it's paid. Appreciate you taking the time.
This could happen to any of us. I hope January is when things finally get easier. Blessings
Rooting for you, Ji-min. Shared it with a few friends. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Thinking of Seoul.
Wishing you the best, Ji-min. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. We're a small family in Badagry but we're thinking of you.
Thinking of you, Ji-min. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. All the best.
Sending love. Great idea, hope you get there. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Greetings from Tallahassee
wishing you peace. More neighborhoods should do this. Don't be hard on yourself for asking.
Take care, Ji-min. Looking forward to the next update.
