We lost everything in the river erosion: help the Harbor neighborhood start over
After the river erosion, families in the Harbor neighborhood need clean water, roofing materials and bedding.

The river erosion hit the Harbor neighborhood on 23 August. My home was one of 42 damaged, and 8 families are still in temporary shelter at a mosque and church hall.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $650 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $270
• Clean water and purification supplies: $70
• Food parcels for displaced families: $110
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $200
If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

Hope it all works out, Ayesha. Shared this with my family. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. All the best
