The landslide hit the Riverside settlement on 15 December. My home was one of 49 damaged, and 5 families are still in temporary shelter at the community hall. The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming. Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before. We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy. We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates. Where the $1,950 goes: • Roofing sheets and timber: $1,250 • Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $450 • Clean water and purification supplies: $250 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people. - Ingrid

        • Sending love, Ingrid. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected.

          • Hang in there, Ingrid. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Thinking of São Paulo.
