We lost everything in the landslide: help the Riverside district start over
Neighbors in the Riverside district are rebuilding after the landslide; every contribution goes to materials and supplies.

The landslide hit the Riverside district on 25 August. My home was one of 17 damaged, and 9 families are still in temporary shelter at a mosque and church hall.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $1,000 goes:
• Food parcels for displaced families: $340
• Clean water and purification supplies: $330
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $330
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

Good news. Because of your gifts ($85 in total) I met with the suppliers and confirmed the amounts. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
We're at 4% thanks to 2 of you. I met with the suppliers and confirmed the amounts. More news soon.

You're not alone. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Sent it to 17 people at work.
