We lost everything in the ice storm: help the Old Town district start over
The ice storm damaged 12 homes in the Old Town district. We're raising funds for repairs, supplies and temporary shelter.

The ice storm hit the Old Town district on 4 February. My home was one of 12 damaged, and 14 families are still in temporary shelter at the sports club.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $3,500 goes:
• Tools and labor for repairs: $1,050
• Food parcels for displaced families: $1,500
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $950
Glad we found this place.

Hang in there, Daniel. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it.

Sending love, Daniel. I hope things turn around soon. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. God bless.
