We lost everything in the hurricane: help the Orchard settlement start over
Neighbors in the Orchard settlement are rebuilding after the hurricane; every contribution goes to materials and supplies.

The hurricane hit the Orchard settlement on 24 February. My home was one of 17 damaged, and 7 families are still in temporary shelter at a borrowed warehouse.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters.
Where the $6,500 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $2,200
• Clean water and purification supplies: $1,050
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $880
• Food parcels for displaced families: $670
• Tools and labor for repairs: $1,700
Thank you so much.

Keep going, Anjali. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. All the best
Wishing you the best, Anjali. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. I have a 10 year old who wants to send good wishes too.
Take care, Anjali. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. My husband and I read this together.
Sending strength, Anjali. Your post was clear and honest. Thinking of Spokane.
