We lost everything in the hurricane: help the Hillcrest settlement start over
After the hurricane, families in the Hillcrest settlement need clean water, roofing materials and bedding.

The hurricane hit the Hillcrest settlement on 18 July. My home was one of 68 damaged, and 13 families are still in temporary shelter at the local school gym.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $6,650 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $4,700
• Food parcels for displaced families: $740
• Tools and labor for repairs: $1,210
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

You're not alone. Hope this works out for you. Thinking of Fort Collins
Hang in there, Silas. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. After 12 years in farming I know how hard it's to ask for anything
Stay strong, Silas. Your post was clear and honest. My neighbor in Onitsha donated after I showed her your page.
keep going, Silas. Shared it with a few friends. My husband and I read this together. Love from Beersheba.
