We lost everything in the house fire that spread across the block: help the Orchard settlement start over
The house fire that spread across the block damaged 69 homes in the Orchard settlement. We're raising funds for repairs, supplies and temporary shelter.

The house fire that spread across the block hit the Orchard settlement on 25 February. My home was one of 69 damaged, and 2 families are still in temporary shelter at the community hall.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters.
Where the $1,250 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $550
• Clean water and purification supplies: $135
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $150
• Food parcels for displaced families: $150
• Tools and labor for repairs: $265
Thanks for being kind about this.

Looking forward to the next update. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Thinking of Lahore.
I hope things turn around soon. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Thinking of Lahore.
Stay strong, Arslan. Shared it with a few friends. Love from East London.
So sorry you're going through this. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. Greetings from Kediri.
