We lost everything in the house fire that spread across the block: help the Greenfield neighborhood start over
After the house fire that spread across the block, families in the Greenfield neighborhood need clean water, roofing materials and bedding.

The house fire that spread across the block hit the Greenfield neighborhood on 15 February. My home was one of 18 damaged, and 7 families are still in temporary shelter at the community hall.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $5,800 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $1,700
• Clean water and purification supplies: $440
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $950
• Food parcels for displaced families: $1,150
• Tools and labor for repairs: $1,560
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Sending good thoughts, Anil. Hope this works out for you. After 7 years in social work I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Love from Jerusalem.
