The heatwave hit the Harbor neighborhood on 23 May. My home was one of 36 damaged, and 2 families are still in temporary shelter at a mosque and church hall. The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming. Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before. We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy. We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates. Where the $750 goes: • Tools and labor for repairs: $80 • Clean water and purification supplies: $45 • Roofing sheets and timber: $480 • Food parcels for displaced families: $145 I hope life is good to you.

  • Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Sadia.

Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. tools and labor for repairs comes first ($80) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Let me know if you want more detail.

Sending strength. More neighborhoods should do this. My neighbor in Karachi donated after I showed her your page. All the best.
