We lost everything in the flood: help the Old Town neighborhood start over
After the flood, families in the Old Town neighborhood need clean water, roofing materials and bedding.

The flood hit the Old Town neighborhood on 16 May. My home was one of 83 damaged, and 9 families are still in temporary shelter at the sports club.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $2,350 goes:
• Food parcels for displaced families: $390
• Clean water and purification supplies: $420
• Tools and labor for repairs: $470
• Roofing sheets and timber: $1,070
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Hope it all works out, Julia. Your post was clear and honest. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Take care
