We lost everything in the flood: help the Millbrook settlement start over
The flood damaged 26 homes in the Millbrook settlement. We're raising funds for repairs, supplies and temporary shelter.

The flood hit the Millbrook settlement on 7 September. My home was one of 26 damaged, and 10 families are still in temporary shelter at the local school gym.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters.
Where the $1,100 goes:
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $145
• Tools and labor for repairs: $140
• Food parcels for displaced families: $220
• Roofing sheets and timber: $595
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

thinking of you, Pari. It takes guts to ask. Well done. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. All the best
is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Pari.
The list at the bottom is the whole picture. bedding, blankets and mattresses is the biggest at $145. Appreciate you taking the time.
You're not alone, Pari. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. God bless.
Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. After 21 years in teaching I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Take care.
