The flood hit Hillcrest village on 12 December. My home was one of 87 damaged, and 4 families are still in temporary shelter at the sports club. The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming. Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before. We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy. We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates. Where the $1,650 goes: • Tools and labor for repairs: $700 • Food parcels for displaced families: $600 • Clean water and purification supplies: $350 Every share and every dollar helps. - Wiktor

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Wiktor.

It's all in the list in the story. tools and labor for repairs is the big one at $700, I'll post a receipt when it's paid. Ask me anything else.

  • hang in there, Wiktor. More neighborhoods should do this. My brother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home

    • everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. My husband and I read this together. Love from Tiruchirappalli.
