The flash flood hit the Millbrook settlement on 25 December. My home was one of 86 damaged, and 13 families are still in temporary shelter at the community hall. The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming. Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before. We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy. Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters. Where the $8,850 goes: • Food parcels for displaced families: $1,850 • Clean water and purification supplies: $980 • Roofing sheets and timber: $5,500 • Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $520 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

Updates from Evelyn

  2. Update from Grand Rapids: I met with the suppliers and confirmed the amounts. We're at 16% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.

  3. Thank you all. We're at 6% now ($537). I'm honestly stunned. the plan for clean water and purification supplies is now scheduled.
