The flash flood hit the families of Marketplace Lane on 19 October. My home was one of 38 damaged, and 10 families are still in temporary shelter at a mosque and church hall. The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming. Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before. We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy. Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters. Where the $5,150 goes: • Roofing sheets and timber: $1,400 • Food parcels for displaced families: $1,450 • Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $1,700 • Clean water and purification supplies: $600 If you're reading this, thank you.

  2. Update from Houston: we've started the first stage. We're at 49% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.

  3. Thank you all. We're at 29% now ($1,474). I'm honestly stunned. I met with the suppliers and confirmed the amounts.
