Waylon's stomach cancer treatment fund

6 rounds of treatment are planned at Auckland Regional Medical Center; we're asking for help with the costs insurance doesn't cover.

Waylon was diagnosed with stomach cancer in August. The oncology team at Auckland Regional Medical Center has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in November. He will be away from work for about 4 weeks. Waylon is 50, worked as a construction supervisor until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Auckland Regional Medical Center 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes. Where the $7,450 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $3,400 • Scans and lab work: $1,500 • Transport to Auckland Regional Medical Center: $920 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $260 • Household costs while unable to work: $1,370 Every share and every dollar helps.

Updates from Julia

  1. Wanted to say thank you properly. 61% funded and I made the first payment toward transport to Auckland Regional Medical Center.

  2. Small update. $1,261 so far, the first invoice got paid this week.
