Waylon's multiple myeloma treatment fund

Waylon is facing multiple myeloma and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Waylon was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in August. The oncology team at Sacramento University Hospital has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in November. He will be away from work for about 7 weeks. Waylon is 24, worked as a primary school teacher until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Sacramento University Hospital 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $9,800 goes: • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $650 • Transport to Sacramento University Hospital: $580 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $7,250 • Scans and lab work: $1,320 Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly. - Delilah

is there anything that isn't money that would help Waylon?

Thank you. If you're in Sacramento I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Thanks for asking.

  • Thanks for sharing this. It takes guts to ask. Well done. We're a small family in A Coruña but we're thinking of you. Thinking of Sacramento.
