Water shut-off notice: help Vikas pay $55
Vikas is behind on water bills after my partner leaving the household and needs $55 to avoid a shut-off.

The water account is 3 months behind. I received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on August unless I pay $55. I have never been late before my partner leaving the household.
I called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $25 first, which I don't have.
I live with three children under ten, and going through winter without water isn't safe. We can't cook, keep medicine cold or heat the home.
I'm working on getting back on my feet, and will pay forward whatever help I can once I'm steady.
The money will go directly to the utility provider, and I'll post the paid statement here.
Where the $55 goes:
• Gas arrears: $40
• Reconnection and late fees: $10
• Down payment on a payment plan: $5
Thank you for reading my story.

Updates from Vikas
Good news. Because of your gifts ($20 in total) I met with the utility company and confirmed the amounts. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

It takes guts to ask. Well done. Greetings from Hyderabad.
Thanks for sharing this, Vikas. A secure home matters so much. Hope you're settled soon. All the best
Hope you get there. Love from Hồ Chí Minh City!
Take care. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Love from Bergamo!
Best of luck, Vikas. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. After 7 years in hospitality I know how hard it's to ask for anything. All the best.
