Water shut-off notice: help Geneviève pay $700
A disconnection notice for water arrived and Geneviève needs $700 before August.

The water account is 2 months behind. I received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on August unless I pay $700. I have never been late before a reduction in hours.
I called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $170 first, which I don't have.
I live with a disabled brother, and going through summer without water isn't safe. Without it we can't refrigerate insulin and food, or keep the house at a safe temperature.
I'm working on getting back on my feet, and will pay forward whatever help I can once I'm steady.
Every dollar goes to the account in Geneviève's name; a copy of the paid bill will be shared in the updates.
Where the $700 goes:
• Heating arrears: $360
• Reconnection and late fees: $145
• Down payment on a payment plan: $195
Glad we found this place.

Stay strong. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. Sent it to 14 people at work. Love from Oakland.
Thanks for sharing this, Geneviève. A secure home matters so much. Hope you're settled soon. Thinking of Ottawa

Thanks for sharing this, Geneviève. This could happen to any of us. My sister had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. God bless.
