Water shut-off notice: help Everly pay $650

Everly is behind on water bills after July's medical emergency and needs $650 to avoid a shut-off.

The water account is 4 months behind. I received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on November unless I pay $650. I have never been late before July's medical emergency. I called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $125 first, which I don't have. I live with a disabled brother, and going through the rainy season without water isn't safe. The children would have no light to study by. I'm working on getting back on my feet, and will pay forward whatever help I can once I'm steady. The money will go directly to the utility provider, and I'll post the paid statement here. Where the $650 goes: • Utility arrears: $300 • Reconnection and late fees: $140 • Down payment on a payment plan: $210 I hope life is good to you. - Everly

Updates from Everly

  1. Good news. Because of your gifts ($55 in total) I made the first payment toward down payment on a payment plan. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  2. Thank you all. We're at 5% now ($30). I'm honestly stunned. the plan for down payment on a payment plan is now scheduled. - Everly
