The water account is 4 months behind. I received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on August unless I pay $100. I have never been late before losing my job in April. I called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $25 first, which I don't have. I live with three children under ten, and going through the cold months without water isn't safe. Without it we can't refrigerate insulin and food, or keep the house at a safe temperature. I'm working on getting back on my feet, and will pay forward whatever help I can once I'm steady. The money will go directly to the utility provider, and I'll post the paid statement here. Where the $100 goes: • Electricity arrears: $80 • Reconnection and late fees: $15 • Down payment on a payment plan: $5 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people. - Atul

  • Thanks for sharing this. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. Greetings from Addis Ababa.

Best of luck. Gave what I could, wish it was more. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. Love from Kikuyu.
