The water account is 3 months behind. I received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on July unless I pay $600. I have never been late before an unexpected car repair. I called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $80 first, which I don't have. I live with a parent on oxygen therapy, and going through winter without water isn't safe. Without it we can't refrigerate insulin and food, or keep the house at a safe temperature. I'm working on getting back on my feet, and will pay forward whatever help I can once I'm steady. The money will go directly to the utility provider, and I'll post the paid statement here. Where the $600 goes: • Water arrears: $220 • Reconnection and late fees: $180 • Down payment on a payment plan: $200 If you're reading this, thank you. - Alice

  • Best of luck. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Put this on a community board in Aurora this morning. All the best.

    • I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Sent it to 19 people at work. God bless.
