Waseem was diagnosed with a herniated spinal disc in August. The surgeon at Peshawar Orthopedic Institute recommended emergency hernia repair, and He is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $930, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $700 short.
my husband has been in and out of Peshawar Orthopedic Institute since August. The doctors say a herniated spinal disc will get worse without emergency hernia repair. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $930 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Waseem struggles with daily life and can't climb stairs. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 6 weeks. During that time Waseem won't be able to climb stairs, so the costs keep growing.
