Wasantha's kidney cancer treatment fund
Wasantha is facing kidney cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Wasantha was diagnosed with kidney cancer in January. The oncology team at Colombo University Hospital has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in March. He will be away from work for about 10 weeks.
Wasantha is 37, worked as a taxi driver until January, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Colombo University Hospital 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $1,350 goes:
• Transport to Colombo University Hospital: $105
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $870
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $140
• Household costs while unable to work: $235
