Wasantha lives with a rare neuromuscular condition. The occupational therapist at the Negombo Mobility Clinic has assessed him and recommended a prosthetic leg. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $1,100. His current equipment is 12 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 8 weeks. With the right equipment Wasantha could go outside without waiting for someone to push. It would change everyday life for the whole family. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered. Where the $1,100 goes: • prosthetic leg: $1,050 • Delivery and set-up: $35 • Fitting and training sessions: $15 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.
