Wangari's stomach cancer treatment fund
Wangari is facing stomach cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Wangari was diagnosed with stomach cancer in August. The oncology team at the Mombasa Oncology Institute has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in November. She will be away from work for about 5 weeks.
Wangari is 25, worked as a nurse until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Mombasa Oncology Institute 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $1,750 goes:
• Household costs while unable to work: $195
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,300
• Scans and lab work: $125
• Transport to the Mombasa Oncology Institute: $130
